The controller is a big adjustment, you pretty much have to relearn how to aim, but I find controller play more enjoyable (I started with mouse). You can add piercing or switch to Phi with many empty healing bolts if you want more healing. Add chainsaws, etc if it's not fast enough. My favorite setup is something like: (empty) healing bolt, long distance cast, double cast, alpha, small tele bolt. Healing bolt is much easier to find and doesn't work with nolla (or at least, I haven't been able to get it working, maybe someone has found a way). You don't even need nolla/reduce lifetime, which is really nice if you want healing and can't find CoV (or can't find nolla, which is also rare). The bolt aims relative to your noita wherever the noita goes, so if you hold a given direction with the stick you keep porting in that direction even if the camera gets weird due to fast movement(you don't get that weird jitter perpendicular to your intended direction of motion). It is much easier to use fast teleport setups with a controller. so basically you can go anywhere without digging If you put this combo at the end of the LDC, the black hole creates a space for you that you teleport into. Basically heal yourself every time you teleport Greek letter + circle of vigor = infinite healing. Much shorter distance but I have much greater control, and the character is essentially following my mouse around. These spells make it so I teleport just to the end of the LDC. Adding chainsaws, increase mana, etc so I can TP rapidly without losing steamĪdvanced: Add even greater control with Nolla or Reduce lifetime. Intermediate: Add "machine gun wand" mechanics. With this I usually build my TP wand in stages, improving it as I progress in the game:īasic: Long distance cast + short teleport -> LDC allows you to go through walls and travel in/out of HM though the barrier without risk of collapse The short distance here is to have more control over where you are teleporting. IMO what makes a good teleport / travel wand is to teleport short distances rapidly, while being able to get past most obstacles (e.g. So, if someone could explain the science behind figuring out what combo of spells could work to make a good, speedy, efficient travelling wand then that'd be great. I won't bore you with the details about how I tried calculating cast delay and so on, but suffice to say my results ended up in me hitting up YouTube tutorials and then to asking on reddit. My goal is to travel quickly and in a straight line for quite a while. ![]() I watched Nymph's video here:, but it's only really good if you want to travel in a kind of odd ball shape and be useful for digging/destroying terrain. If I hold down shoot, then the wand usually teleports me in odd pentangle/wad shapes, or I travel forward twice, then back once then forward once, then diagonal up at a 45 degree angle, then back and down at a 45 degree angle and all sorts of horrible nonsense like that. Usually what happens is I teleport, drop for a bit, teleport, drop for a bit and that's the most effienct I've become. There are also mod settings (Options -> Mod settings) where you can tweak spawn chances etc.I feel like I'm at a stage where I can build pretty good killing/digging wands, but my teleport game blows wads and always has. Otherwise the order in which you add items doesn't matter. ![]() If you want to use a tablet it needs to be added before the 2nd wand, because 2 wands is already a valid recipe and will start the forging. Spells from potion recipes can only be added to the wand if there is enough free space, if not it will not overwrite already existing spells and it will only apply the remaining bonus (if any).Įach anvil can only be used once by default, but you can find multiple per run. To pour a potion, stand on top of the anvil, take the potion into your hand and press the interact key (E by default). Potions need to be at least 80% full of the material. When merging two wands, two of the following stats will randomly get buffed while 1 gets nerfed: Cast delay, Recharge time, Spread. In other words, adding one tablet will add a random always cast spell to the resulting wand. Just open your inventory and drag your wands out to throw them onto the anvil. ![]() Adds a semi-rare room with an anvil to most biomes, where you can improve your wands!
